Your first pointe shoe fitting is a very special day in the life of a ballerina. There is no other iconic moment for a ballerina than to see her foot slide into that lovely satin pointe shoe and relevé en pointe. Seeing the ballerina at the barre on pointe looking back at you from the mirror gives you the first glimpse of the ballerina waiting to bloom from within.

Meet the Fitter
Born and raised in Huntsville, Alabama, Mary Beth Hill studied ballet, tap, jazz, modern, and contemporary at North Alabama Dance Center. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Dance from Troy University in 2015. As a student, Mary Beth performed original works and studied under choreographers such as Nicki Loud, Dominque Angel, Ellie Lazar, and Wes Chapman. In past years, she was accepted to attend the American Dance Festival, auditioned for season 11 of So You Think You Can Dance making it to the choreography round, and worked as a youtube creator making dance concept videos. Mary Beth was an apprentice and marketing lead for Ad Deum II Dance Company under the direction of Randall Flinn and Shizu Yasuda in Houston, Texas. She then became Ballet Master, Rehearsal Director, Aerialist, and Principle Company Artist for Fall | Contemporary Aerial Dance Company in Nashville, Tennessee for two seasons. Mary Beth has been teaching dance for all ages for 15 years with a main focus in ballet.
